Pastor Collins

Pastor Darrell Collins, 4th Dan Jujitsu


Pastor Collins shares his love of Christ through the ministry of his church, teaching his congregation the truth of our Lords will at Harvestime Assembly. He holds the 4th Dan in Jujitsu, and is the Southeastern Director of the Shindenkan Sogo Budo Renmei.

Rev. Darrell Collins began informal training at the age of 11 years old within Eishin Ryu Karate which began his love for the martial arts. Collins sensei began his concentrated studies of the martial arts when he joined the US Army in 1986.

After returning to South Carolina in 1989, at the age of 21, Collins sensei began training in the family art of Nippon Kamishin Ryu. Over the past 14 years, Collins sensei has trained with numerous Shihan most of which were trained directly by Church sensei.

In 2002, Collins sensei was ranked to Godan in Kamishin Ryu and has recieved the title of Shihan-Renshi directly from the current head-family, Ted Petit.

Ordained into the ministry in January 1994. Began training in martial arts 1959, since then he has achieved the Shodai ship of Wu-Wei Gung Fu given to him by the late Bruce Lee and Albert Church. Two of the most reknown martial artist to had lived in the US and Asia. Life time member of the Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute, Western States Executive Director for the Society of Black Belts of America.

Sensei Bandy has been involved in the martial arts for over twenty years and currently holds the rank of 3rd Dan in the arts of Wado-ryu and Senido under masters Rodney Graham and Phil Porter, respectively. He has had the privilege of attending training seminars conducted by Joe Lewis and Bill "Superfoot " Wallace, and is currently training for his Black Belt in Judo under Master Porter, one of the world's best practitioners !

Sensei Bandy and his wife, Jeanne, own and operate Lion & Lamb Karate Kids in Big Stone Gap, VA. Their faith in Christ is known throughout their small community and is demonstrated strongly by the witness of their school and their service to the public. Barry, Jeanne and their four children are actively involved in their local church and its many mission outreach efforts.

In 2001 the CMAA named Lion & Lamb Karate its "school of the year" and chose Barry "instructor of the year".

We are honored and blessed have Barry and Jeanne as CMAA members .
